A shout out to a very cool artist

During the Convention I saw amazing work from some very talented artists and illustrators but the style of Jeremy Bastian really grabbed me. So I wanted to give him some kudos and take a picture of the reproduction I bought from him. His style really reminds me of A.B Frost and Heinrich Kley. His website is really cool too so check out (www.jeremybastian.com)

How did this one slip through my fingers?

Hey I thought I posted this before the San Diego trip.
Any who this is my latest mural ( on the ceiling and in the heat ) I worked on with my buddy and fellow artist Jerry Parker. The commission was to do a solar system for a local elementary school. It turned out great but man do I hate painting on scaffolding. Also the fact that it was done outdoors in the blazing Texas sun wasn't too smooth. With all that aside I am very proud of the results.

Back from Comic Paradise!!!

One of the reviewers kindly stayed late to review portfolios so this doodle is for you good sir.

A view of San Diego from the Comic Con. Superman included of course.

Hey everyone, I am back from San Diego and the Comic Con. Hands down it is the craziest event I have ever been to. I loved it and I definitely will be attending next year.

COMIC CON : 125 thousand guests, 15 thousand elaborately costumed die hard fans, comic books, collectibles, comic books, more comic books, graphic novels, even more comic books, movies, television shows, artists everywhere, bright lights, gigantic and elaborately decorated booths. It was a sight for these eyes!!!!! I even got to see some famous actors including Patton Oswald, Lou Farigno , the original Hulk, the Sponge Bob voice actor and "Imagineer God" Joe Rhodes who was amazing to talk to. Its funny when you see your favorite idols and Actors & Actresses in person you either forget their name and point your finger at their face while having a relapse in memory or think for a moment what famous person they resemble.

I also ran into Chris Sanchez and Francis Vallejo and some other friendly faces from Ringling.

Here are some sketches from the Con with a mix of Austin doodles. Oh yeah there was also a little earth quake when I was in Burbank that was a weird feeling.

Peace Out

Unda Da Sea!!!!!!!!!

Ariel, Ariel! Just two things to take care of with the bathroom hallway mural and I will be done!!

The theme was to do a coral reef scene for the hallway between the boys and girls bathroom at Xploration Station. I also thought it would be cool to make the partition in the hallway look like a sunken pirate ship.
It has been fun but it has been a pain excusing myself, as well as constantly moving and stopping and starting because ya know it's a narrow hallway and people selfishly have to use the bathroom. What nerve, LOL!

Seriously I would like to thank a friend of mine, Jerry who helped me out of some of the fish, Celacamp and the Sea Turtle. I appreciate the help and the company.

OH CANADA!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody! Last weekend I was very fortunate to visit Vancouver Canada for the wedding of some close friends. Let me tell you, Vancouver is JAW DROPPING BEAUTIFUL! The city is flanked by snow capped mountains and the ocean and is just inspiring. I love it there and had an excellent time. Unfortunately it was generally overcast and I could not believe that was 45 degrees in the summer time. Regardless Vancouver is beyond words and the Canadians I met were very nice and friendly. If you have never been you have to go!!!!

For all of the close friends that showed my sister and I an amazing time, we can't thank you enough.

Hey hey hey, I am on my way to wrapping up another themed birthday room for Xploration Station. The heat is on to say the least but it is a lot of fun and a good challenge. Please leave some comments and help a brotha out. Sorry for the blurry pictures.
